About Methanol
Methanol is an intermediate chemical feedstock with diversified end uses which is primarily produced from natural gas as well as coal.
Also known as methyl alcohol or wood alcohol, it is the simplest of all alcohols with the chemical formula CH3OH. Methanol is a light, colorless, flammable liquid at room temperature, and contains less carbon and more hydrogen than any other liquid fuel.
It trades globally and has a high degree of transportability by pipeline, rail, barge, and ship.
